Transfer Stations

Transfer stations are smaller sites where you can bring household waste, recyclables, and certain larger items.

Each station has its own hours, fees, and list of accepted items, so it’s a good idea to check before you visit.

Using a Transfer Station

Simple reminders to make your visit smooth and safe.

Not everything can be dropped off at a transfer station, so it’s important to check what each site accepts before you load up. Some items have a gate fee to cover the cost of hauling waste to the regional landfill. If you’d rather, you can always take your load straight to the landfill where regular residential waste is free.

Sorting your load ahead of time makes things quicker once you arrive. Remember, you’ll need to unload your own materials, the supervisor’s job is to watch for hazards, guide traffic, and make sure items go in the right spot.

All garbage must be bagged properly, and scavenging isn’t allowed. Finally, be aware that stations may close during poor weather, so check ahead if conditions are bad.
